Broken ankle=creative mind

Unfortunately I fell over my own feet and hurt myself very bad.  Broken ankle.  After surgery I can't walk on my foot for about 6 weeks. I am so very happy that I still have my art.  I am trying to focus on being creative and work on my art lessons and do the best out of this situation.
Last week my art friend Donna came over and she taught me a great technique for journaling.  It was so much fun.
Here is the link for her tutorial:
And now my results.

Merry Christmas from me to you

Here is my picture. HO HO HO

Did you get some new art supply for Christmas???
I gifted myself a little while ago with new prismacolor coloring pencils and can't wait to get really into it.
For now I have a little contest for you. I drew quick four wimpsy Christmas trees. Can you color, or tangle (doodle art.you know its my favorite) them? Sent me a picture per email or post them on my irismartinart facebook page. I will draw a winner in the end of the year and you can win one of my favorite micron ink pens and a little notebook. This contest is for everybody no age limitation :-)

A Christmas present for your kids

While working yesterday I was doodling around and I thought of all the coloring pages people download from the computer. My kids love to do that.
This is my first try to do my own for you to download. Please feel free to share my page.

September means soccer season

I wasn't able to do a lot over the summer because I was busy traveling to Europe and hang out with my familyin Germany.   Back to school and here we are in crazy soccer schedule maniac.  I thought it would be fun to create a banner for my sons team this year.  I was looking at the printed banners but thought they are kind of looking all the same. So very ambitious I volunteered without really knowing what I am putting myself into.
Some research, measurements, a name, a uniform color... Golden warriors. I wanted this little yellow Pokemon  guy but team decided they want to be "golden warriors" well then!
Trip to Beverly's and buying canvas, measurement and getting it to the right size took forever especially because my machine kept breaking sewing needles. Neighbor helped sewing this puppy.
I found a cool soccer warrior image online and my art friend Donna blew it up and via overhead projector we transferred it onto the prepped canvas (gesso and grey acrylic background)
I thought it would be cute if the names are on a shield and those in team color (yellow). Many hours painting (15 hours with two people).  We added in the end some glitter on the head and on the black part of the ball.  I think we pulled of the coolest banner ever. See yourself.
And the best part is to see the pride of the kids because their mom did it.
